Setting the Agenda: Multicultural Communities on Family Violence | InTouch

June 16, 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

With the Labor Federal Government’s commitment to launch the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and Children and a Victorian state election in November, the next six months are key to determining the shape of family violence reform across the country. Critical to these considerations are the unique experiences of migrant and refugee women and their communities, and this in-depth, expert discussion seeks to highlight and explore these issues.

Setting the Agenda: Multicultural Communities on Family Violence will be moderated by Juliana Nkrumah AM (Settlement Services International) and opened by Gabrielle Williams MP, the Victorian Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Prevention of Family Violence and Minister for Women, with a short welcome from Miriam Silva (inTouch Chair).

Joining our CEO, Michal Morris on the panel will be-

  • Tania Farha (CEO, Safe+Equal)
  • Ash (NOOR inTouch Survivor-Advocate Group, VSAC, Family Safety Victoria)
  • Kate Fitz-Gibbon (Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre)
  • Dr Emma Fulu (The Equality Institute, VOICE)
  • Nassim Khadem (ABC News, The AGE, AFR)

Setting the Agenda: Multicultural Communities on Family Violence is taking place at Collingwood Yards’ Music Market at 35 Johnston Street, Collingwood on Thursday 16 June at 6pm.
