Level 1: Elder Abuse Training – Recognising and Responding to Suspected Elder Abuse

Peninsula Health brings this free elder abuse training to you in conjunction with The Bouverie Centre, funded by the Department of Health and Human Services, as part of the integrated model of care (IMOC) for responding to suspected elder abuse.

This interactive workshop is designed to assist health and community professionals to more confidently:
 Recognise elder abuse – the risk factors, types and potential signs
 Respond sensitively to older people at risk of, or experiencing elder abuse, & their carers/family
 Know the types of services available and make appropriate referrals.

June session: Level 1 Elder Abuse_24062020

Technical requirements on the day:
 PC, Mac, tablet or mobile device
 Internet connection – broadband wired or wireless (3G or 4G/LTE)
 Speakers and a microphone – built-in or USB plug-in or wireless Bluetooth
 A webcam or HD webcam – built-in or USB plug-in

Who should attend?
 Community service providers including allied health, nursing and medical staff, assessment workers, care coordinators, case managers, mental health workers and community support staff.
